New video highlights Rauner’s attacks on public employee unions

A new video uses Bruce Rauner’s own words to make it clear that one of his top goals should he become governor would be taking down public employee unions in Illinois.

The video, released by the Illinois Federation of Teachers, shows Rauner repeatedly attacking “government union bosses” – nothing more than a thinly-veiled attack on unions themselves. He claims union leaders “own Springfield.”

He even claims that public-sector unions’ interests are “not the same as the taxpayers’” and that “their power is organized against the public good.”

“By their nature they’re immoral; by their nature they’re corrupt,” says Rauner, caught on video.

Rauner is also filmed praising Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who pushed through legislation that took away collective bargaining rights from public employees in Wisconsin. The video makes it clear Rauner would use Walker’s anti-worker agenda as a model for his own.

“Scott Walker did it – we’ve got to take on the power of the government unions bosses,” Rauner says in the video.
