SURS trustee election underway

The State Universities Retirement System (SURS) Trustee Election is underway. AFSCME Council 31 recommends Steven Rock.

TOP PRIORITY: RETIREMENT SECURITY

Steven Rock understands that the State Universities Retirement System must reflect its membership in the decisions that are made and ensure that those decisions are in the best interests of SURS members.

As a Professor of Economics at Western Illinois University, a member of the University Professionals of Illinois (UPI) and the State Universities Annuitants Association, Steven Rock is uniquely qualified to continue his service on the SURS Board of Trustees.

Steven Rock supports full state funding of SURS and believes that this commitment must not be pushed off onto individual universities that are struggling under the current higher education funding crisis.
