Vote to re-elect Verna Thompson for MEABF Trustee

AFSCME Council 31 recommends the re-election of Verna Thompson for trustee representing city of Chicago and Chicago Public Schools employees in the upcoming election.

Verna Thompson has served on behalf of City of Chicago workers and retirees for the past 3 years on the MEABF pension fund.  She has worked as a Supervisor at the Chicago Traffic Management Authority for 15 years. For the past 14 years, Verna has served as a steward for SEIU Local 73 where she has served on the contract negotiations team.

“As a city employee and union steward, I have learned to speak up when it comes to defending our hard earned benefits,” Thompson said. “City workers need to be confident that our pensions will be there when we retire. I promise that if reelected I will continue to fight every single day to ensure you don’t have to worry about your pension.”

Verna Thompson is a proven leader who will continue to be a strong voice for city of Chicago employees on the MEABF Board. Vote to re-elect Verna Thompson for MEABF Trustee!
