Biden signs bipartisan infrastructure bill


President Joe Biden signed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill on Nov. 15. The legislation will bring more than $17 billion for capital projects in Illinois, including some $9.8 billion to repair 6,218 miles of Illinois highways and $1.4 billion to repair 2,374 Illinois bridges rated in poor condition.

This investment will transform the state with broader internet access, replacing lead water lines, and expanding mass transit. Tens of thousands of union jobs will be created and even more that will be connected through supply and logistic needs.

This bill passed with votes from both political parties. The vote count for the Illinois delegation is below:
