Fair Tax Day of Action UPDATE!

Due to inclement weather, plans have changed for the Fair Tax Day of Action as follows:

Although there will be no outdoor rally at the Lincoln Statue, the Fair Tax lobby day is going forward.

Check in at the AFL-CIO offices (534 S. Second Street) starting at 11 a.m. (until 2 p.m.) to pick up your lobbying assignment and materials. Box lunches will be provided.

If you signed up for a bus through the Think Big web page, they will leave as scheduled and come directly to the AFL-CIO.

It's time Illinois has a tax system that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few. That's why AFSCME members are joining with other working people in Springfield on Tuesday, April 30 for the Fair Tax Day of Action.

With the legislature planning to vote on the fair tax amendment resolution in the coming weeks, there's never been a more important time to make our voices heard on this critical issue.

Gov. Pritzker’s fair tax plan would hold stable or reduce taxes for 97% of Illinois taxpayers! And it would fill the state’s gaping budget hole that is making it so difficult to adequately fund our schools, repair our infrastructure and meet other vital needs.

Reach out to your local union to sign up and for more information.
