Back pay bill passes Senate – but another vote needed

HB 3763, an appropriation to pay all back wages owed to state workers, passed out of the House earlier in the session and has been awaiting a vote in the Senate.

Today, in one of countless end-of-session bill revisions, the Senate amended HB 3763 and made it the FY 16 education budget. Senators then amended SB 2038 to make it the back pay appropriation. Both bills passed out of the Senate. But SB 2038 now has to be voted on in the House – even though the appropriation was already approved by the House in the other bill.
