Rauner attacks public employees [videos]

Bruce Rauner says if he is elected governor, he would "take a strike and shut down the government" to "re-do everybody's contract" and cut pay:

Rauner says he would fire thousands of workers like "Ronald Reagan did with the air traffic controllers" and "shut things down" to wipe out unions:

Rauner says, "Why should government workers get a pension that makes them millionaires when they retire?"

Rauner calls a public employee's paycheck and pension "a financial tumor":

Rauner says Illinois public employee "salaries are 23 percent higher than in our neighboring states ... with stunningly generous pension benefits that allow government employees to retire with higher pay for the rest of their lives than they got while working."

Rauner says "he has spent time learning from other Republican governors like Mitch Daniels in Indiana, Scott Walker in Wisconsin and Chris Christie in New Jersey. If elected, he...looks to cut spending and outsource state services where possible."
