Volunteer in Wisconsin recall elections

Help transform historic outrage over anti-worker policies into real political change. Join working men and women going door-to-door and phone banking for labor's endorsed candidate for Wisconsin State Senate in the Milwaukee area.

Volunteers are needed in Milwaukee to help recall one of the senators who backed Wisconsin's Gov. Scott Walkers all-out attack on the middle class, public employees and the right to collective bargaining.

Council 31 legislative affairs specialist John Kolhepp is in Milwaukee and is appealing for Illinois AFSCME members to step up:

"This Saturday we are leaving from the We Are Wisconsin office at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to walk precincts (called wards in Wisconsin).

"We will also be walking at noon on Sunday.

"GOTV weekend, August 6, 7, 8, and 9, we will be working 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. in three-hour shifts. We have 239 shifts to fill each day.

"You can contact me on my cellphone at 217-502-4166 and we will happily add you and anyone you can bring to the program and make sure your time is worth the drive."
